The National Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Management Council (NFARMC) conducted its 3rd Quarter Meeting today, August 30, 2023 at the Grand Summit Hotel in General Santos City.
USec. Drusila Esther Bayate, Chairman of NFARMC, members of the DA-BFAR officials led by Atty. Demosthenes Escoto, National Director and representatives from other national agencies, members of the academe, non-government organizations (NGO) participated in the event. The honorable council members also attended the 23rd National Tuna Congress.
The meeting paved the way to the deliberation, presentation, and approval of the proposed Fisheries Administrative Orders (FAOs).
NFARMC serves as the advisory and recommendatory body to the Department of Agriculture. It was created to assist in the formulation of national policies for the protection, sustainable development, and management of fishery and aquatic resources, and the preparation of the National Fisheries and Industry Development Plan.
