The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), through the Fisherfolk-FARMC Coordination Office, conducted the 4th Quarter Meeting of the NFARMC on October 22, 2024 in Zamboanga City. Members of the DA-BFAR officials led by Officer-in-Charge, Isidro M. Velayo Jr., MDM and representatives from other national agencies, fisherfolk fishworkers, members of the academe, non-government organizations (NGO) participated in the event. The honorable council members also attended the 7th National Sardines Industry Congress and Trade Exhibit 2024.

NFARMC serves as the advisory and recommendatory body to the Department of Agriculture. It was created to assist in the formulation of national policies for the protection, sustainable development, and management of fishery and aquatic resources, and the preparation of the National Fisheries and Industry Development Plan.
