The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), through the Fisherfolk-FARMC Coordination Office, conducted the 2nd Special Meeting of the NFARMC in a hybrid set-up on August 8, 2025 in Quezon City. Members of the DA-BFAR officials, led by Undersecretary for Fisheries of the Department of Agriculture and Chairperson of the NFARMC, and National Director of BFAR, Dir. Elizer S. Salilig, MFT and representatives from other national agencies, fisherfolk fishworkers, commercial, members of the academe, and non-government organizations (NGO) participated in the event.
NFARMC serves as the advisory and recommendatory body to the Department of Agriculture. It was created to assist in the formulation of national policies for the protection, sustainable development, and management of fisheries and aquatic resources.
